Williamsville firefighters were alerted to a report of a possible kitchen fire at 250 Mill Street. Williamsville 9-2 called onlocation and reported heavy smoke showing. Amherst Fire Control dispatchers toned out the automatic aid bringing an engine from Snyder and FAST Team from Main-Transit. Williamsville 9 then reported a 2-1/2 story frame with a fire in the kitchen on the first floor. The fire was quickly knocked down and the cause is reported to be careless cooking.
